Q: Where is your "home" service area?
A: Although Monterey, California is considered "home base," we would more broadly define our "home service area" as comprising the towns of: Carmel, Monterey, Pebble Beach, Big Sur, Salinas, and Santa Cruz. Basically, draw a 30-mile radius around Monterey, California and that is "home." An example may help clarify:
> Example ($148 travel surcharge): Your event begins with bridal preparation at Nepenthe in Big Sur (38-miles from Monterey) and the ceremony/reception follow down near San Simeon (96-miles from Monterey). Since the start point is outside our "home service area" (8-miles outside our 30-mile "home" travel region from Monterey) a $16 surcharge is incurred; similarly, the end point of your event is 66-miles outside our "home service area" (66-miles x 2-directions x $1/mile = $132 surcharge).
Q: Do you travel outside your "home" service area?
A: Yes, we sure do! However, any travel outside our "home" area will incur a $1/mile (each direction) surcharge; or, if overnight lodging and/or airfare is required, all such additional travel expenses will be due in advance. Please contact us for details.
Q: Our ceremony is in City "X" while the reception is in City "Y", how is that going to work? Are there extra fees for this travel or is it already included in the service package I reserved with you?
A: When you book a professional service package with us, you don't need to worry about "hidden charges" in scenarios such as you describe. Once we show up and begin shooting, so does the "clock" and we will continue working until the end of the time block you contracted with us. That is, you are purchasing a block of our time and how you use it is totally up to you (if you want to spend it at the chapel in City X...great; if you want to spend it driving to the beach...great; it doesn't matter to us, we'll do and go wherever you think is best).
When we describe the surcharge for travel outside our "home service area" this applies only to the starting/ending point of your event. Here's an example to help illustrate:
> Example (no extra travel fees): Your event begins with bridal preparation at the Pebble Beach Resort (3-miles from Monterey), the ceremony follows down at the beach near Nepenthe in Big Sur (38-miles from Monterey), and concludes with a reception at the Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley (16-miles from Monterey). Since the start and end points of your event are within 30-miles from Monterey, no surcharge is incurred.
